You Are Beautiful
"I must say, You are looking divine!! Just absolutely gorgeous, stunning and radiant!! YOU are SO beautiful to ME " Has anyone ever said that to you? NO!!?? Well, well. I think its reasonable for you to want to hear these words aimed in your direction. I also think that you should not feel uncomfortable when hearing such words either!!~ So what am I saying,...first of all I'm a rambling mess... second of all, I suffer from terrible self esteem, poor self confidence, severe anxiety and I am terrible at receiving a compliment and actually hearing it or BELIEVING it. So I have been working on this for about 6 months now and I am feeling much better than I ever have. I think it will always be a struggle but I am up for the challenge.
FEBRUARY CHALLENGE
How do we get over this funk?? How do we truly believe that we are gorgeous? How do we tell others they are beautiful more often? HOW HOW HOW!!!
1. We are creatures of habit. So make it a habit of looking at yourself with love. Every night before bed, for a whole month {I'm choosing February} I NEED you to do something for me. I am going to do it also. ~ Write down how many amazing things happened that day. ~How many of those amazing things did you directly make happen.~ How much of the day did you see as being beautiful. ~How many times someone told you that your are so beautiful. ~And how many times you told someone else that they are gorgeous.
Doing this will help you build a relationship with yourself. A loving one! It will enlighten you. It will lift your spirits and teach you something great about yourself. I have struggled terribly with this nonsense and I am just sick of it!! I want to have confidence, enough so that I can believe whole heartily the compliments that people give me. I want YOU to all believe the compliments that so many give you. We usually just slough them off and ignore them.. BUT why???
Why don't we believe in ourselves? Because society has lead us to believe that 'thinking we are beautiful is only SKIN deep'. That being pretty means that we only weigh 100 pounds, have perfectly white straight teeth, we wear a two piece swimming suit while we make a beautiful 3 course meal. Life is not about the amount of shiny sparkly things we own or wear. Those pretty people who are only in magazines or movies are not what we should be expected to look like. First of all, you are divinely gorgeous because you are WOMAN!!! Second of all, it is pathetic that the covers of magazines have half naked woman on them who are suppose to be what the average woman looks like??? I call BS.{ by the way they have a personal trainer, chef, makeup artist, hairstylist, and the images of them are totally photo shopped so much}
The average woman wears many hats Wife, Mother, Daughter,Chef,Maid,Coach, the list goes on and on. And 9 out of 10 haven't bathed in at least two days. We have some kind of pee, puke, or snot on us, whether its from our children or the giant grey hound. We are all tired. We are depressed in one way or another. We have no time to deal with any of this poor pity party. Let alone get up every day with the confidence to take on all of life's challenges.
2. Do we ever stop and pat ourselves on the back? We should!!! We should because we deserve it. We are amazing and beautiful and great at what we do. Add this to the list from earlier, jot down some things in a journal about how great you are, at just being YOU. Remember that life is a test. Everyone, even the woman who are on magazines are not perfect. We all struggle. We all FALL. We all need to lift each other up. We as woman have an obligation to tell one another how beautiful we truly are. You cannot give someone else a compliment, without believing somewhere in your soul that it applies to you also.
This is all TRUE, every word of it. YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL TO ME. You are a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, chef, and whatever other hat you decide to wear. Even a giant sombrero!! If its you. Be YOU. Be Beautiful!! I encourage you to try this out every night even if you are soo tired you can't read what you wrote the next day. It will be worth the effort, when you are a happier person inside. Your confidence will show and everyone will notice it on your countenance!
