beautiful giant

I learned something very valuable today at church...I know I should be learning something of value every time I attend church. But today it was so much different than the usual lessons I have heard. Which was refreshingly beautiful! In a room filled with woman the lesson was basically to not judge the book by its cover. That's hard to do as you may know, us woman, well we always are looking at each other. And 9 times out of 10 have some judgement to call one way or another. I sat and listened to this beautiful woman speak of  looking beyond appearances and really seeing the potential that lies beneath the outer appearance. Whether someone has tattoos or piercings even down to the shoes they might be wearing. We are allowed to express ourselves they way we want! But regardless we as Woman need to know that we are beautiful and loved and most important have VALUE beyond what we look like, dress like, or whatever else we get judged by. And further more we have no reason to call judgement on anyone, because we are the same value as the person who lives next door. We should try to become the type of person, that everyone knows would love you for your worth, not the value of your shoes.
This made me realize that my amazing Father who has passed away, was this exact type of person. Let me explain what he looked like..He was 6"6 and weighed over 300 hundred pounds he had tattoos on both of his arms and smoked cigarettes. In his later years he became pretty mentally unstable and he had a big bushy beard and long crazy curly hair. Yet  everybody who knew him was never afraid. He was a gentle giant. He was pure selflessness. He would never judge anybody for what they looked like or how they dressed. He would only notice if they needed a new shirt, and give them one of his own.
He is what I call a tinker, an absolute genius. He could take anything apart and fix it or put it back together even better than it was made to begin with. He was always fixing something for somebody and never ever asked for them to pay him. I adore the memories I have of him. Because every single memory is filled with his complete selflessness. I always watched him helping someone in need or giving any of his belongings to another person. Because he felt like they needed it more than he. It has been said by many who knew him that he was Christ-like as one can be, given the circumstance of his mental state. He had his troubles and trials. Yet inside his giant self lived, an amazing soul who loved everyone he met. And would do anything for a perfect stranger. That is how I wish to become!
Finding beauty in the person who you may not even know or someone who annoys you or even someone who has done you wrong. Is possibly one of the most amazing gifts we can give ourselves. I love when I learn something that effects my whole outlook on life. Looking beyond the appearance of the person is what I need to strive to more. This has really made me think about how I see people and how I can change to become better!~
I challenge all who reads this to look a little closer at the VALUE of the person and not their appearance and supposed trespasses. Because inside lives a beautiful gentle giant. Who may need you to remind them how beautiful they are inside and out!

Have a better outlook on VALUE this week all my prettiest of pretty people
